Boldenone is a strong anabolic that also exhibits androgenic and estrogenic effects, but to a slightly lesser extent (similar to the weaker testosterone). Its primary action is to cause growth, but mainly by using, among other things, androgenic potential rather than by acting directly on androgen and estrogen receptors.

Boldenone, unlike other anabolics, is not mostly mediated through the 5-alpha-reduced form. However, it creates a very effective form – dihydroboldenone, which is on average 7 times more anabolic than testosterone.

This means that a large part of boldenone’s anabolic effect results from the hormone itself binding to androgenic receptors. Presumably, this is why it, and not other anabolic steroids, was so widely used in veterinary medicine, and despite differences in the metabolism of species, it gave such good results.

Boldenone – effects on mass

Like most anabolic steroids, boldenone increases muscle mass by increasing nitrogen retention and thus positively affecting protein synthesis and reconstruction. This is an effect that does not necessarily have to be caused by the mechanism of action typical of nandrolone.

What effects of boldenone distinguish it from other anabolics? It increases appetite, thanks to which it allows the delivery of all the ingredients that are necessary for proper muscle protein synthesis.

In this way, by providing a large amount of food, it leads to achieving good musculature when using AAS. This theory is not yet fully confirmed, but it is indisputable that boldenone causes very good gains.

Boldenone – effects on reduction

In this case, boldenone combined with a non-aromatizing steroid such as Winstrol or Primobolan can be very useful, especially during the period of sculpture. The only problem may be the constant struggle with increased appetite, which can unfortunately lead to a greater tendency to gain unwanted fat tissue.

Therefore, a better idea is to combine increased doses of boldenone with a typical mass steroid, such as pure testosterone or anadrol, which will allow for very large gains.

Boldenone – side effects

The side effects of boldenone are limited. In normal doses of around 300 – 400 mg/week, estrogenic effects are practically unnoticeable, they can only appear in people who are hypersensitive to estrogen.

Referring to the androgenic side effects of boldenone, long-term or very intensive use can cause slight virilization, e.g. excessive acne or uncontrolled hair growth all over the body.
